There were six people and not four involved in the Parimal Garden robbery and according to police, two among them were women.

Initial probe has revealed that the robbers left the city in a private bus towards Saurashtra after committing the crime.

In a meticulously planned and executed operation, the gang deliberately used the services of women members in their escape with the booty. The women associates succeeded in hoodwinking the police and left the city in a private bus.

Primary investigations reveal that the gang could have been living somewhere in Paldi a day before the crime occurred. “A member of the gang had booked tickets from his mobile phone from a private travel agency,” a police source said.

Sources said that the robbers had left their car at the Mahasweta Kadambari Society near Nehrunagar and walked 300 metres and took either an autorickshaw or some other vehicle. “They must have thought that hiring an autorickshaw was safer than escaping in own car,” the police source said. The gang members later took a bus from a private bus depot in the western part of the city.

Sources also revealed that according to the bus staff, the gangsters were carrying a big bag, which they had put in the luggage box of the bus. “No one from the bus staff had checked the bag,” sources said.

The police investigation is banking on the cell phones records of the outlaws. The police got the first breakthrough when it found out the mobile number used by one of the robbers. The cops have now asked the service provider to give the call details
of this number. “This is very vital clue for us. Now, we will be able to nail those who were in contact with the members of the gang,” the source said.

The police are now tracing other numbers used by the robbers during their operations in Vadodara, near Parimal Garden during the robbery, near the Nehru crossroads, where the car was abandoned, and near a private bus stop in the western part of Ahmedabad.
