2 injured in car accident in Gujarat

A city-based builder and his wife were injured when their car was hit by another speeding car near Parimal Circle in the wee hours of Friday.

Ellisbridge police said injured Soumil Shah 46, owner of Island Constructors, and his wife were returning from Gujarat Sports Club, Navarangpura, in their Honda Escort car at midnight when the incident took place.

"A car with registration No. GJ 1 BV 9774 rammed into Shah's car and slammed it against an electric pole. The pole bent down and his car rolled down on the road,” police said.   

The couple was rushed to a private hospital where they are undergoing treatment. Ellisbridge police have registered a case of rash driving against the driver of the other car.
