2 from Ahmedabad, 1 from Gandhinagar get IIMA call

Dreams of learning management fundas at the Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad (IIMA) have come true for two students from Ahmedabad and one from Gandhinagar.

A day after the Common Admission Test (CAT) results were announced, two students — Mayur Bhakar and Siddharth Goyal from Ahmedabad and Akash Shroff from Gandhinagar got calls from the mecca of management- IIMA, on Thursday.

While Mayur is a student of LD Engineering college in Ahmedabad, Siddharth studies at Dhirubhai Ambani Institute of Information and Communication and Akash has studied pharmacy from Vallabh Vidyanagar. Joy was palpable in their voices as their cherished dream of studying in the premier B-school has moved closer to realisation.

Talking to DNA, Mayur said, “I studied at LD Engineering college. Whenever I went out with friends to Vastrapur or anywhere I used to see IIMA building. There was a wish deep inside to study there and I am so happy that I have got closer to my dream.” He secured 98.99 percentile in CAT 2011. Mayur hails from Rajasthan and his parents are settled in Surat.  Same is the case with Akash who got 98.73 percentile in CAT - 2011. “I tried my luck in CAT 2010 also. Things didn’t work out in my favour last time.
