18 hurt in communal flare-up in Rae Bareli

At least 18 people were injured in a clash between members of two communities over the route of a religious procession in Parsadepur town in Rae Bareli district of Uttar Pradesh today.
    
The trouble erupted when some persons objected to the route of the religious procession, police said adding the two sides indulged in heavy stone-pelting.
    
Some incidents of arson were also reported during the communal flare-up, they said.
    
Police reinforcements were rushed to the trouble-torn town where tension ran high. Top district and police officers were camping in the area.
