15 ill after chlorine gas leaks from chemical factory in Haryana

At least 15 people were taken ill after chlorine gas leaked from a chemical factory in Hirapur village in Haryana's Faridabad district, police said today.

The leakage from the factory had started at around 11am yesterday, according to the locals.

The administration reached the spot almost 12 hours after the leakage started, when the situation had worsened, they said.

The victims who complained of symptoms like vomiting and respiratory problems were given first aid by the administration.

Strict action will be taken against the factory, deputy commissioner Pravin Kumar said.
