13 judges relieved from duty by GujaratHC

The judges were selected from the lawyers' fraternity as the presiding officer of the fast track court on an ad hoc basis to ease the backlog of cases in the state.

The administration of the Gujarat high court has ordered that the services of 13 fast track judges of various districts be discontinued with immediate effect. The high court, which evaluated their work, relieved them from their service after it was found that they were not suitable for service.

The 13 judges are PG Gokani of Khambhalia in Jamnagar, BM Trivedi of Mehsana, KR Vora of Nadiad, AN Mehta of Mehsana, JH Singh of Gandhidham, PP Trivedi and YH Upadhyay from Ahmedabad rural court, RM Patel and RR Bhatt of city civil court Ahmedabad, UH Bhatt of Bhavnagar, RB Bhatt of Gandhinagar, KJ Trivedi of Mehsana, BS Oza of Palanpur.

The judges were selected from the lawyers' fraternity as the presiding officer of the fast track court on an ad hoc basis to ease the backlog of cases in the state. The high court is regularly evaluating their work.  However, the Supreme Court has ordered to maintain a status quo over the discontinuation order given to BM Trivedi and KR Vora by the high court.
