13 IPS officers transferred in Gujarat

The most important transfer is that of Brajesh Jha, from deputy commissioner of police, Zone 1 to DCP, chief minister's security. Jha will replace Rajiv Ranjan Bhagat.

In a major shift in the transfers of senior IPS officers, the home department transferred 13 IPS officers including five from Ahmedabad.

Mohan Jha, who was holding the additional charge of Detection of Crime Branch (DCB), has been relocated to DCB from the traffic department.

The most important transfer is that of Brajesh Jha, from deputy commissioner of police, Zone 1 to DCP, chief minister's security. Jha will replace Rajiv Ranjan Bhagat.

Apart from Jha, Satish Varma has been transferred from the Gujarat housing board to traffic department. The post of DCP, Zone 5, has been vacant since last few months and has now been occupied by deputy superintendent of police, Kutch, Wabang Zamir, who has been replaced by JN Rajgor.

Deepak Swaroop and Tirthraj, the ADGPs of Arms unit and Anti Corruption Bureau respectively, have been transferred to SC/ST Cell and Arms unit. "With the transfer of Tirthraj, the home department also merged the additional post of special director with the director of ACB," sources said.

The superintendent of Sabarmati Jail, VM Parghi had been transferred to IGP, Border Range.
