11 more dengue cases in Delhi

Dengue cases surged today in the national capital which registered 79 cases, eleven more than previous day's figure.
 
With this, the total number of dengue cases touched 4,826. Eight persons have died due to dengue this season.
 
According to the statistics provided by MCD, Shahdara South and Rohini Zone topped the list with 18 cases each followed by Shahdara North (9), West (8) and Narela (six).
 
Out of the 79, one each case was from NDMC areas and Delhi Cantonment.
 
Rohini Zone has reported the largest number of dengue cases this season with 620 cases followed by Shahdara-North (567) and Central (555).
 
According to MCD statistics, 1,153 dengue cases and three deaths were reported in 2009, 1,312 cases and two deaths in 2008, 548 cases and one death in 2007, and 3,366 cases and 36 deaths in 2006.
