10-year-old girl, 3 others killed in jeep-truck collision in Uttar Pradesh

The incident occurred on Sunday morning when the jeep carrying passengers from Kanpur to Varanasi rammed into a stationary truck in Kokhraj, 200km from Lucknow.

Three women and a 10-year-old girl were killed and eight others injured today when a jeep collided with a truck in Kaushambi district, the police at Lucknow said.

The incident occurred this morning when the jeep carrying passengers from Kanpur to Varanasi rammed into a stationary truck in Kokhraj area, 200km from Lucknow, killing four persons on the spot.

Those killed were identified as Kusum Dwiwedi (50), Kamla Devi (50), Ramkala (50) and Shivangi Shukla (10).

The injured were taken to a private hospital from where one person with serious injuries was referred to Allahabad, the police said.
