Ten students of Gujarat University's science stream have bagged a unique opportunity to begin research on Leukemia and HIV, courtesy research fellowship project under UGC.
Four hundred students from universities all over India applied for the fellowship, which included 14 students from GU. Ten among them bagged the opportunity. Students selected will get Rs14,000 per month and an additional Rs12,000 a year for research fellowship.
"Students will study impact of nanoparticle on leukemia cell, while another bunch will study HIV agents," said Trivedi. UGC has approved two-year programme for the project, incurring Rs36 lakh for research at the varsity.
