Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa who breathed her last on December 5 at 11.30 PM in Apollo Hospital, Chennai will be cremated with full state honours at Marina Beach on Tuesday (December 6) at 4:30 PM.
The funeral will be attended by the nation's political top brass and people from all across the nation.
Centre has declared one day state mourning and the national flag on all government buildings will be flown at half-mast. A seven-day state mourning has been declared from Tuesday morning to mourn the death of the beloved six-time Chief Minister and a three-day holiday has also been announced for educational institutions in the state.
Jayalalithaa, a popular leader who showered the poor with populist programmes, was battling for life since last 75 days.
The 68-year-old leader had suffered a massive cardiac arrest on Sunday evening.
