Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa who breathed her last on December 5 at 11.30 PM in Apollo Hospital, Chennai will be cremated with full state honours at Marina Beach on Tuesday (December 6) at 4:30 PM.

The funeral will be attended by the nation's political top brass and people from all across the nation.

​Centre has declared one day state mourning and the national flag on all government buildings will be flown at half-mast. A seven-day state mourning has been declared from Tuesday morning to mourn the death of the beloved six-time Chief Minister and a three-day holiday has also been announced for educational institutions in the state.

Jayalalithaa, a popular leader who showered the poor with populist programmes, was battling for life since last 75 days.

The 68-year-old leader had suffered a massive cardiac arrest on Sunday evening.
