From Congress's 'Bhajapno vikas gando thayo chhey' to BJP's 'shehzaada' jibe, Tuesday witnessed a high political drama of attacks and counter attacks.

While Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi was seen slamming the ruling NDA government for giving all jobs to Chinese youth in Vadodara, BJP president Amit Shah was in Gandhi bastion Amethi giving 'hisab' of all work done by the Narendra Modi government.

The battle began with the second leg of Gandhi scion's Gujarat trip, where he held an interaction session with students in Vadodara.

From economic downturn to the BHU violence, Gandhi's scathing attack on the BJP set the tone for the political mood in Gujarat that goes to poll later this year.

Rahul Gandhi's aggressive take on BJP's ideology showed that the Congress will fight it out in the state elections.

“Inka (BJP) main sangathan RSS hai. Kitni mahila hain usme, kabhi shaakha mein mahilaon ko dekha hai shorts mein? Maine to nahi dekha (RSS is the main organisation of BJP. Have you ever seen any women in shorts at any shaakha? I haven't seen one),” Gandhi said.

He also lamented on how the BJP is not doing enough for women's empowerment.

Without naming the BHU violence, Gandhi went on slamming the BJP for its oppresive mindset. “Inki (BJP) thinking ha jab tak mahila chup rahe, kuch bole na tab tak mahila theek hai jaise hi mahila ne muh khola usko chup karvao (BJP's thinking is that till the time a woman is silent, it's fine, but the moment she speaks up, then they force her to shut up).

Talking about lack of jobs, Gandhi said that all jobs are going to China. “Job creation is India's main problem. 29,550 out of 30,000 new jobseekers are unable to secure their livelihoods...Selfies are fun but most phones are Made In China, helping their youth find jobs, not ours. Buy Indian phones,” Gandhi said.

If morning was all about Rahul Gandhi, the second part of the day belonged to the BJP.

The top brigade of the ruling party, both in the Centre and Uttar Pradesh, descended in Gandhi's home turf — Amethi.

Union Minister Smriti Irani, UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and BJP president Amit Shah were all in Amethi to show some 'home truth' to Congress.

Irani and CM Yogi both spoke about how Congress has failed to develop Amethi.

But the most formidable attack on the Opposition party was by BJP chief Amit Shah.

Not only did he talk about the development work done by the Narendra Modi government, he also took jibe at Gandhi for attacking the 'Gujarat model'.

“People of Gujarat know what development means. You talk about 'vikaas', just see what you have done in Amethi,” Shah said.

He continued with his 'Rahul Baba' jab and talked about 106 schemes launched by the Centre.

Tuesday saw the two parties battling it out over the issue of development.

While the Congress is saying that 'Gujarat model' has failed, the rally by BJP top command in Amethi was a stuning counter-attack.
