A delegation of Tamil National Alliance (TNA) leaders met former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh here on Friday.

The TNA is a Sri Lankan Tamil political alliance in Sri Lanka and rules the country's Jaffna province. It was formed as an amalgamation of moderate Tamil parties as well as number of former rebel groups.

Earlier today, the Tamil National Alliance delegation had also met External Affairs Minister (EAM) Sushma Swaraj. During the meeting they had urged New Delhi to ensure devolution of power to provinces in their country.

TNA leaders would push their case for full implementation of the thirteenth amendment to the Constitution. They are also expected to call on Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

The 13A amendment had come into existence due to India-Sri Lanka accord signed in 1987 between the then Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi and then Sri Lankan President JR Jayewardene. It stipulates devolution of powers to the provinces which was centre of ethnic conflict.
