An outlay of Rs 1,120 crore has been approved for successful implementation of Sarva Sikskha Abhiyan' (SSA) in Haryana for the year 2015-16.
A decision in this regard was taken in a meeting of the Executive Committee of the SSA chaired by Haryana Chief Secretary D S Dhesi and organised by Haryana School Shiksha Pariyojana Parishad, a government department responsible to implement SSA, in the State.
The approved outlay included, fresh approvals for Rs 788 crore and committed liabilities of Rs 332 crore, an official release said.
The total approved budget would include Rs 36.83 crore for disbursing free textbooks, Rs 57.68 crore for uniform, Rs 194.82 crore for developing school infrastructure, Rs 27.65 crore for management costs, Rs 11.82 crore for Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalayas.
The Chief Secretary directed all Additional Commissioners to submit their report about activities under SSA of their districts concerned once in every month based on the checklist provided to them by the Parishad.
