RJD legislator and leader of the opposition in Bihar Legislative Assembly, Tejashwi Prasad Yadav, on Friday, exhorted people to pedal along with him from Saturday when he commences his ‘cycle yatra’ against “increasing incidents of crime against women in the state.”

Christened ‘NDA Bhagao-Beti Bachao’, the three-day cycle rally will kick off from Gaya’s Gandhi Maidan and cover 100 kms to reach Patna on Monday evening. “Crime against women has increased to such an extent in Bihar that girls as young as 4 or 7 are being gangraped and the videos are made viral. But, the Chief Minister, who once talked of 3Cs – crime, corruption and communalism – is now celebrating it,” said Tejashwi, who reached Gaya on Friday.

Tejashwi will seek blessings at the Mahabodhi temple in Bodh Gaya on Saturday morning, following which he will commence his journey with a public address.

“The #CycleMarch4Girls will commence against increasing institutional rapes in Bihar and criminal silence of CM Nitish Kumar. People should join the march if they want justice for our daughters, sisters,” he said.
