The Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) in the last 24-hours arrested two persons and seized contraband worth Rs 19 crore from their possession in two separate incidents.

In the first case, a Kenyan woman identified as Shopie Dzibza Songe (38) was arrested with 2.7 kilograms of cocaine valued at Rs 16.2 crore from the airport.

"Songe travelled from Lome to Addis Ababa and later to Mumbai carrying the contraband carefully concealed in two liquor cartons," said a NCB official.

The officials said she had made 164 capsules to store the drugs. This was her second visit to Mumbai, earlier she had visited the city in May.

In the second case, NCB arrested another Kenyan Chirwa Richard Zakiyo who was on his way to Lasuka from Mumbai.

According to NCB Zakyo's accomplice had handed over him the drugs at Colaba concealed in cricket thigh guards.

The officials seized 23.8 kilograms of Amphetamine worth Rs 3 crores.

The officials said that since April this was the fifth arrest by NCB in Mumbai and they have seized drugs worth more than RS 96 crore.
