Mumbai model pulls out 'gun' to scare away molesters

A Mumbai based model pulled out what seemed like a gun after two men allegedly tried to molest her while she was shopping at a retail store in Karol Bagh in Delhi.

The model, who has also been a contestant in reality TV show Big Boss, was visiting Delhi for work when the alleged incident took place on Monday morning. Police are yet to register a case as the model has not yet filed official complaint with the Delhi police.

Police said the woman was waiting her turn at the billing counter when she suddenly pulled out a gun-like object accusing two men present there of passing lewd comments and trying to touch her inappropriately. The two accused fled the scene by the time the shop manager intervened and other customers gathered around.

Police told dna that they were not sure if the 'gun' pulled out by the model was a real one. "We have asked the model to join the probe and are awaiting her response," a senior police officer said. Police are also speculating that the model might have kept a air gun for protection. "We are seeing a lot of women have been keeping toy guns and other non lethal objects bearing resemblance of a weapon to deter bad elements in the society.

Police also said that CCTV footage of the shop has been recovered and investigators were trying to identify the accused. "As soon the accused are identified we will take action. The model, however, has to lodge an official complaint and also record her statement. Investigators could get more leads into the case," said the officer.
