Five people were rescued and three others are missing after a boat capsized in a lake in Mumbai's Powai lake.

Five people were rescued and three others are missing after a boat with eight people on board capsized in Powai lake in Mumbai on Friday night.
Those rescued are out of danger and being treated.
“The control room got a call at 11:30 pm about a boat being capsized. The boat capsized at 11:15 pm on Friday. A couple of them were rescued by the locals during the night while rest drowned," said a senior police officer from Powai police station.
"Those who boarded the boat were all residents of Mumbai and were on the boat for leisure. The boat belonged to a member of the Maharastra State Angling Association, a club near the lake, however, the club claims that the boat was taken without their permission,” officer added.
Police said that the boat toppled because it was hit by a bamboo or a pole in the water, the boat was only 100 meters away from the shore hence, the locals could rescue them.
