Main witness in a case against UP minister Azam Khan attacked

The district convenor of Bajrang Dal, Ujjawal Gupta had filed a case against Samajwadi Party leader Azam Khan for his remarks on Kashmir made by him during his visit to Badaun to take part in an agitation on December 21, 2010.

The main witness in a case against Uttar Pradesh Minister Azam Khan was allegedly attacked in Badaun by four unidentified persons.

The main witness in the ongoing case against Khan in the court of chief judicial magistrate, Atul Rastogi Alankar has given a complaint to the police alleging that he was attacked by four car borne youth with lathis, belts and butt of guns last night around 11 pm, police said on Thursday.

Alankar said in his complaint claimed that he was stopped by the youths while he was on his way to Navada area in Civil Lines police station area who warned him against deposing in the case or be ready to face consequences, police said.

Investigations are on into the allegations made by Alankar and further action will be taken on the basis of the facts emerging in it, police added.
