Goa governor Mrudula Sinha meets media on Swachh Bharat Abhiyan

Nominated as a brand ambassador of the mission by prime minister Narendra Modi, Sinha briefed the media of the activities undertaken so far as part of the mission and her own initiatives to carry out the mission across the country.

As part of her continuing efforts to implement the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, Goa governor Mrudula Sinha had a meeting with editors of media organisations recently at the Raj Bhavan and sought active support from the members of the fourth estate in creating awareness for the initiative. She also emphasised the need for active involvement of all sections of the society in successfully taking forward the national mission.

Nominated as a brand ambassador of the mission by prime minister Narendra Modi, Sinha briefed the media of the activities undertaken so far as part of the mission and her own initiatives to carry out the mission across the country. She explained how the Raj Bhavan staff has taken initiative in keeping the Bhavan estate clean.

The governor informed the media that she had several meetings with different sections of the society, including government authorities, civic bodies, sarpanchas, voluntary agencies, hoteliers, industries etc.

Sinha said that cleanliness by an individual largely depends on the 'sanskar' and she felt that such campaigns need a change in the mindset of the people.

Resident Editor of Tarun Bharat Avinash Vengurlekar, representative of Prudent Media Laukik Shilkar, Metro editor of Times of India Vijay D'Souza, Programme executive of All India Radio Santosh Padgaonkar, representative of Big FM Prince Jacob, station head of Big FM Sanman Kenkre, Assistant editor of The Navhind Times Abdul Rauf Beig, CEO Goa 365 Sohan Karkal, Editor of Navprabha Paresh Prabhu, Editor of Gomantak Shriram Pachindre, Editor of RDX Channel Darshan Lolienkar, representative of Sanathan Prabhat Amit Pokre, representative of Doordarshan Kendra Uday Kamat were present.

Earlier Dr N Radhakrishnan, special secretary to the governor, gave a brief on the various activities being carried out to make the mission successful.
