Check: IBPS issues notification for 6th IBPS PO examination

Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS) has issued notification for the 6th IBPS PO examination for the post of PO/MT. As per the notification, 20 public sector banks have around 8822 openings to be filed for the year 2017-18.

IBPS will be conducting, evaluating and publishing the results for this all India common exam which would facilitate the job for the position of probationary officer in public sector banks. The examination would be conducted in three phases - prelim exam and main exam, and those selected from the first two rounds will be screened through a final round of interview. They can then express their choice among the banks which have openings.

Important dates:

Application date: July 26 - August 13, 2016

IBPS PO examination: October 16, 22, 23

IBPS Main examination: November 20, 2016

Age limit:

Anyone who is between the age group of 20-30 as of July 1, 2016 is eligible to apply. (OBC - + 3 years, SC/ST - + 5 years)

Educational qualification:

A candidate having a graduation degree is eligible to apply.

Exam Pattern:

Prelim: Prelim exam will have 100 questions for 100 marks and the time limit for them would be one hour. Candidates would be tested on English language, quantitative aptitude and reasoning ability.

Main: Candidates will have to answer 200 questions in two hours. They will be tested on reasoning, English language, quantitative aptitude, General Knowledge (with focus on banking) and computer knowledge. Each section needs to be completed in allotted time and the candidate needs to score the minimum marks (in each section and overall) to qualify for the next round.

There will be negative marking of 0.25 for each wrong answer.
