If the hooch tragedy had happened in Delhi every media channel would have asked for Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal's resignation, senior AAP leader Ashutosh on Saturday said, as he lashed out at the BJP led state government in Maharashtra over the soaring death toll due to consumption of spurious liqour.

Lashing out at the media, the journalist-turned politician questioned whether the yoga event by the Prime Minister was more important than the lives of those lost in the hooch tragedy.

"PM Yoga can't be more important for TV than lives of poor people in Mumbai but strange are the ways of modern TV journalism! 74 people died in Mumbai hooch tragedy, no debate on TV. If it happened in Delhi by now every channel would have asked for Arvind's resignation.

"Is it because the hooch tragedy has occurred in Mumbai, ruled by BJP? Or there is some other reason?" Ashutosh said in a series of tweets. Around 84 people have died until now after consuming spurious liqour in suburban Mumbai even as 34 more are undergoing treatment at various hospitals in the metropolis.
