The Delhi Commission for Women (DCW) has issued summons to DCP North and SHO of Kashmere Gate Police Station with regard to the attack on Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Alka Lamba. The DCW has asked both police officers to appear before it on August 17. The Chandni Chowk MLA, who suffered, head injuries after allegedly being pelted with stones last Sunday, had alleged that she was attacked in the presence of policemen but no action was taken by them.

Lamba had also denied vandalizing a sweet shop in Kashmere Gate, saying the CCTV footage which showed her throwing things was taken after she was attacked during an anti-drug drive. "As far as this footage is concerned, I have seen it. The shop is of BJP MLA OP Sharma and the attack took place outside his shop and the attacker was also caught from this shop," she said.
