The Aam Aadmi Party on Friday held a detailed discussion, in which a section raised their opinion about the concerns put forth by some leaders criticising the candidate selection during the Delhi assembly election.
The informal discussion was held following the National Executive meeting yesterday, where the party discussed its future course of action. It was also decided that party chief Arvind Kejriwal will continue to play dual role of chief minister and AAP's National Convenor.
Two senior leaders - Prashant Bhushan and Yogendra Yadav - had raised their concerns about the candidate selection, following which the party set up an internal Lokpal that dropped two candidates. The matter was raised in the National Executive meeting yesterday.
"The Delhi unit of AAP was unhappy as it claimed that the party already had a strong filter to weed out candidates who don't meet the party standards," said a senior party leader.

"But apart from the candidates no senior leader has approached the grievance committee as of now. It was also conveyed to the leaders to ventilate their grievances before the committee."
Concerns were also raised about "leakages" by some leaders to the media, which was not good in taste for the party.
The National Executive meeting, which was attended by AAP leaders from the various states, also saw discussion on whether the party should contest polls in other states.
Also, AAP leaders from across the country assessed the impact of the Delhi poll victory in their regions.
The sources added that it has been in principle decided that the party would not contest elections in any other states as of now and will focus on party building.
However, there was an opinion within the party whether to contest on Bihar, which is to go for polls later this year, but a decision on this would be taken in the National Council meeting next month.
