The Haryana Government had reportedly charge-sheeted Khemka recently for going beyond his jurisdiction as an IAS officer to cancel the land deals between real estate giant DLF and Sonia Gandhi's son-in-law Robert Vadra. Khemka has maintained that the state government was targeting him as he had exposed corruption in land deals involving Vadra. Union Cabinet Secretary Ajith Seth has reportedly made a recommendation to the Prime Minister's Office (PMO) to transfer the 1991-batch IAS officer, from Haryana to the central government.The PMO has also cleared Ashok Khemka's name and the communication is being sent to the Haryana Government. 

Here are 10 things you should know about the Vadra whistleblower:

*Born in Kolkata, Ashok Khemka graduated from the Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur, before completing doctorate in computer science from Tata Institute of Fundamental Research, Mumbai.

*Ashok Khemka, (47) is a 1991-batch IAS officer of Haryana cadre.

*Khemka was posted and transferred through 44 departments in 23 years of his career and is currently the DG of Archives & Archaeology in Haryana state which is hist 45th posting.

*He is a fan of Right to Information (RTI) Act and is known to have used it often to dig out information relating to undue favours used by some of his colleagues irrespective of the position they may hold.

*Biggest crackdown- a whistleblower in the Robert Vadra case where he cancelled some land deals involving Sonia Gandhi's son-in-law Vadra and real estate giant DLF. Soon after he came out against Vadra-DLF land deals, Khemka had alleged that he was facing death threats from anonymous people.A complaint was lodged with the Panchkula Police by Haryana Seed Development Corporation (HSDC) chief manager K.R. Sharma. 

*Khemka highlighted land deal corruption in Gurgaon and around for conversion of commercial land. As the Managing Director of Haryana Seeds Development Corporation Limited, Khemka exposed its irregularities in just five months as its head, following which he was transferred on 4 April 2013.

*During his 80-day stint as Director-General of Land Consolidation and Land Records-cum-Inspector-General of Registration in Harayana government, Khemka had detected serious irregularities in land transactions involving transfer of panchayat land worth several hundred crores of rupees to newly created real estate companies. 

*When Khemka opposed "transfer notes" which were sent by the Cheif Minister's office during the INLD regime, he was promptly transfered to a smaller post without any official vehical or office. Khemka responded by walking down to his work place.

*Khemka was recently lured in by the Aam Admi Party (AAP) to join political outfit, but he denied and stated that he won't join Politics until he is 60.

*The Haryana government is pursuing extremely of its authority to penalise Khemka, and till date two chargesheets have been filed against him, one of which accuses of his failure of responsibilities as the head of HSDC and also for low sale of seeds as the MD of HSDC.
