Sonam Kapoor and Deepika Padukone have been publicly taking potshots at each other for a very long time. Now their rivalry has reached a new low. After Deepika Padukone lashed out on a leading daily for a blatantly sexist video, Sonam Kapoor has reacted tersely on Deepika's public statement.

When asked about her opinion on 'good friend' Deepika's stance, Sonam cut the question half way to just point out that they are mere colleagues and nothing else. "I never said that she's a friend of mine but yes, we are colleagues", Sonam said at a promotional event for Khoobsurat.

When Sonam was questioned about Deepika's outburst, Sonam decided to take a swipe at the Finding Fanny actress. "When women stop objectifying themselves, people will stop objectifying them! That is more than enough and we have already spoken so much on it. People have to respect themselves first for people to respect them", said Sonam before she signed off.

The leading daily had carried montage shots of the actress in a video titled 'OMG: Deepika Padukone's cleavage'. After protests from the actress, the fraternity and fans worldwide, the daily had to pull down the article. But they declined to render an apology. Instead they added fuel to the fire by calling it a 'compliment' and stating their actions were 'valid' and 'normal'.

Deepika then issued a public statement clearly sticking to the strong stand she took against the sexist approach by the national daily

It was only about a week back that Sonam openly came out and proclaimed that whatever happened to Deepika was 'unfortunate'. Now with Sonam giving out a different picture, we seriously are confused, what her stand on the whole matter is!
