“There’s no justice in this world,” we see Petyr Baelish tells Sansa Stark. Set to a slowed down version of David Bowie's "Heroes", HBO released the official trailer for the fifth season of Game of Thrones on its Facebook page, on Friday night. The plot for the season has been adapted from George RR Martin's fourth and fifth books in the series, A Feast for Crows and A Dance with Dragons respectively.

The fifth season is set to air on HBO from 12 April 2015 and includes several new cast members such as Alexander Siddig as Doran Martell, Jessica Henwick as Nymeria Sand, Rosabell Laurenti Sellers as Tyene Sand, and Keisha Castle-Hughes as Obara Sand.  The cast and crew of HBO's fantasy drama have filmed scenes for the season in Seville and Osuna, as well locations in Northern Ireland and Croatia.

The upcoming season is expected to feature the show's first ever flashback sequence. The first scene of the season's opening episode will offer a glimpse of the past.  The show has avoided using flashback sequences in its four previous seasons, but showrunners David Benioff and Dan Weiss confirmed plans for the same.  "By making the first season, we set a rule - no prophecies, dreams or flashbacks. We failed the first two and this season the third. So yes, this season will finally have flashbacks," the duo said.

Central characters from the fourth season Bran Stark and Hodor will not be making an appearance this fifth season.  Kristian Nairn, who plays the role of Hodor in the hit series, said that he and Isaac Hempstead who plays Stark had a season off and now they had a year’s hiatus, because their storyline was up to the end of the books.

After George RR Martin confirmed that the sixth book in the series will not be released in 2015, fans of the series will be relieved to have the show to look forward. The highly anticipated sixth book, The Winds of Winter, was expected to be released later this year.
