Tyler James Williams joins 'The Walking Dead'

Actor Tyler James Williams has been added to the cast of post-apocalyptic horror drama TV series The Walking Dead.

Williams, best known for his comedic roles on Everybody Hates Chris will play a character called Noah, although the exact details are being kept under wraps, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Noah is not a character featured in Robert Kirkman's Walking Dead comics.

It is not currently clear whether the 21-year-old actor will appear in the AMC zombie drama as a guest or on a regular basis. 

Williams joins the likes of Seth Gilliam for season five of the hit series, while Andrew J West, Alanna Masterson and Christian Serratos are promoted to regulars.

It was confirmed earlier this month that the long-planned Walking Dead spin-off has been given a pilot order by AMC. The Walking Dead season five begins on October 12.
