'The Mummy' actor Aharon Ipale passes away

The actor was battling with cancer.

Israeli actor Aharon Ipale, best known for his role in The Mummy series, has died after a battle with cancer. He was 74.

The Morocco-born star died on Monday at his home in Israel, reported Deadline. He is survived by his daughter.

His death has been confirmed by his manager Susan Ferris.

"For the past 15 years I have had the honour, and the pleasure, of working with Aharon Ipale. We are deeply saddened by his loss," said Ferris.

The actor was best known for his role as Pharaoh Seti in the Brendan Fraser-directed The Mummy series.

Ipale's acting career spanned over five decades.

He began his career with TV series General Hospital in 1963. Ipale worked on TV shows like Charlie's Angels,Miami Vice, Hawaii Five-O and Taxi.

The actor also featured in 2007 film Charlie Wilson's War, Ishtar (1987) and 1993 movie Son of the Pink Panther.
