Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan is likely to feature in the forthcoming new tourism television campaign for West Bengal.

"We have decided to keep Shah Rukh Khan as a part of our new campaign which is being worked out. "The total budget has not yet been freezed," Bardhan said on the sidelines of media briefing for forthcoming tourism event, 'Destination East' organised by CII. In order to give a boost to the tourism sector, the state government has appointed tourism sector global consultants HVS that has provided consulting services and solutions in more than 60 foreign countries for hotels, mixed-use, shared ownership and leisure assets.

"HVS has been appointed for a vison document and the same is supposed to submitted in a month's time," Bardhan said. The 10-year vision document will aim to double the growth trend of five per cent in inward tourist flow from both domestic market and international countries. Park Hotel MD and CII tourism sub-committee chairman Vijay Dewan said the new incentive scheme which was unveiled at the Global Bengal summit was one of the best and would attract investment in this sector.

Park Hotels is investing Rs 600 crore for a new hotel on an EM Bypass property which was acquired at Rs 135 crore, he said. The 'Destination East' will be held on February 6-7 and some 25 countries are participating at the event.
