Shoot of Shah Rukh Khan-Mahira Khan starrer 'Raees' begins!

Shah Rukh Khan is one busy man. After wrapping up Maneesh Sharma's Fan and taking a little break, it seems our King Khan is back to shoots. This time, for Rahul Dholakia's Raees which also stars Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Mahira Khan.

Raees has been in the pipeline for quite sometime and is a joint production venture of SRK's Red Chillies Entertainment and Farhan Akhtar-Ritesh Sidhwani's Excel Entertainment. Farhan even tweeted, confirming the development.

Raees will have SRK play an earthy role- that of a Gujarati bootlegger and Nawaz essays the role of a tough cop. Mahira plays a Muslim girl and the film is set in the Muslim ghetto in Gujarat in the '80s. Coincidentally, Farhan was initially roped in to play Nawaz's role but he backed out, citing date issues. 

Nawazuddin and Mahira will start shooting for the film whereas SRK will join them soon. At a recent event, Shah Rukh confirmed the same. "I will start with one schedule of Raees before I start with Rohit's film."
