Film: RX Suri (Kannada)
Cast: Duniya Vijay, Akanksha, Ravi Shankar, Avinash, Adi Lokesh, Vinaya Prasad, Thulasi, Shobharaj, Bullet Prakash, Sadhu Kokila and Dayanand
Director: Sreejay
Rating: **

What it’s about:
The much awaited and publicised film RX Suri begins with a group of goons murdering a person. What follows is police inspector (Shobaraj) parading those goons on the streets and finding the weapons hidden at various places of a middle-class locality in Bengaluru and later, Suri alias RX Suri (Vijay) entering a burial ground and beating up some other goons. The film also follows the romantic track between Nikitha (Akanksha) and Suri. What happens to Suri and Nikitha and whether or not Suri succeeds in eliminating the rowdy elements forms the climax of the film.

What is hot:
As usual, Vijay is at ease in the stunt sequences and his performance here deserves appreciation. Newbie Akanksha has tried her best to do justice to her role. Three songs – 'Dove Hodibyada', 'Suri Suri' and 'Huttodu Navello' – are memorable and so are some of the scenes that provide comic relief.

What is not:
The many violent scenes will test your patience. The comedy scenes with Sadhu Kokila and Bullet Prakash are nauseating. Can you imagine a police constable seeking help from a local goon to end an extra-marital affair between his wife and an electrician? The dialogues littered with double entendres are derogatory and cheap. It is not clear how the Regional Censor Board members have allowed such dialogues in this film! Meanwhile, Ravi Shankar's acting left a lot to be desired.

What to do:
If you are a hardcore Vijay fan, go for it. If not, it would be wise to avoid this film that has more violence and less scenes of substance.
