One Direction has released a new video for the track 'History' from their last album Made in the AM before their hiatus. And boy, will it make Directioners weep!

The lyrics as we all know, go like this -

'You and me got a whole lot of history
So don't let it go,
we can make some more,
we can live forever'

It was heartbreaking enough for them to sign off on an emotional note when the song came out. Add the career-spanning video, and the nodding farewell at the end of it, and Directioners will be reaching for tissues by the end of it.

The video starts with the band in The X Factor UK. There are scenes from the stage tours, making of the videos, and ending on the same stage where they started. To the surprise of fans, the montage also includes former band member Zayn Malik.

The track was completed with the help of fans of the band who laid down the chorus with the bandmates. “It’s really great because obviously that song is mainly about the fans and what they’ve done; I think it was important that they were a part of it, to close the album,” said Liam Payne in an interview with Entertainment Weekly.

Band members have said before that the hiatus is needed after five gruelling years of touring and music-making. They have also asked fans to not believe rumours that the band will never get back together. Even Zayn Malik has not ruled out the possibility of collaborating with the band in future.

So all the fans out there, watch, weep and wait!
