If Delhi power circles have to be believed then Veteran actor Dilip Kumar may well be considered for the Bharat Ratna, reports an English daily.

The report says that information on about the actor is being taken from various agencies as apparently that is the norm for Padma and Bharat Ratna awards.

In case the actor is awarded the Bharat Ratna, it may have to be presented to him at Mumbai as his health condition may not allow him to travel to Delhi.

An exception to the norm was made when the award was presented to AB Vajpayee. Preseidet Pranab Mukherjee had given the award to him at his residence. The Dadasaheb Phalke award was conferred to Shashi Kapoor in Mumbai by Finance Minister Arun Jaitley. recently .

Dilip Kumar, born as Mohammad Yusuf Khan in Pakistan debuted as actor in 1944 in the film 'Jwar Bhata'. He had earlier achieved the Padma Bhushan award, Dadasaheb Phalke award for outstanding contribution to cinema (1991), Padma Bhushan award (1994) and the  Padma Vibhushan award  (2015)

While the Maharashtra state has not received any communication regarding the matter by the Centre, an official from the state government said that the Centre does not necessarily communicate regarding the Padma and Bharat Ratna wards and often the recipients not recommended by the state are found in the recipient list.
