Mahira Khan to join Shah Rukh Khan for 'Raees' post monsoons

Pakistani actress Mahira Khan is all set to be a part of the second schedule of Rahul Dholakia’s Raees, come August.

Mahira, best known for her show Humsafar (which aired on Zindagi), will join Shah Rukh Khan on the sets in the face of  uncertainty, given the escalated border disputes between India and Pakistan.

Says a source close to the project, “Yes, concerns were expressed by the film’s producers Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani about Mahira being present in Mumbai when required.” The actress’s visa issues are all sorted now. Apparently, Farhan’s and SRK’s names being associated with the project helped get her the necessary permissions, post-monsoon.

Says the source. “Mahira has already interacted briefly with Shah Rukh who instantly put her at ease when he spoke to her. She is a huge SRK fan. She can’t wait to start shooting with him.”
