Actor James McAvoy says he is not keen on the idea of playing James Bond as he doesn't think the role wouldn't suit him.

The 38-year-old actor says he has no interest in being Daniel Craig's successor, reported Contactmusic.

"Have I been in the running? (Is it the dream role for actors?) Apparently so but not for me. It wouldn't work, he wouldn't suit me," McAvoy says.

McAvoy is already part of a big movie franchise — X-Men. He plays the younger version of Patrick Stewart's Charles Xavier or Professor X in the mutant universe movies. With the X-Men universe sprawling from TV shows like The Gifted or Legion to movies like Deadpool and Dark Phoenix; Professor X can appear in any of them.

So when so many opportunities are waiting for you to say yes, playing spy serving Queen and country may not be as lucrative for McAvoy.

The actor can currently be seen as covert spy David Percival opposite Charlize Theron in Cold War thriller Atomic Blonde.
