While it’s common knowledge that Salman Khan’s next, Tubelight, is set against the backdrop of India-China war, nobody knows what the film is really all about. Now, we hear that it is inspired by the Hollywood film Little Boy.

The only difference between the two is that Little Boy had a track between a father and son while Tubelight has the same plot between two brothers — Salman and Sohail Khan.

To those who haven’t watched Little Boy, it is a war fantasy drama film where Pepper (Jakob Salvati), the little boy gets ruthlessly mocked by his classmates because of his small stature. The story gets under way when Pepper’s father and chief protector (Michael Rapaport) goes off to war and is reported missing. Pepper then gets desperate to have his father return. The local priest encourages him to believe that if he has enough faith, he may have the capacity to alter the course of the war; eventually leading to Pepper’s unbelievable mission to find his father against all odds and fears.

In Tubelight though, it’s Salman who essays the character the boy played in the original. Just like Pepper gets mocked for his diminutive stature, Salman too will be seen facing a lot of issues for being slow in grasping things. Sohail, who plays Salman’s brother, will be the one who goes missing in action during a war.

Chinese actress Zhu Zhu will play Salman’s romantic interest.
