First, the quest to find the lead actress and now this. Seems like Rakesh Roshan and Sanjay Goputa's co-enterprise of working for a love story-cum-revenge drama is becoming the most difficult task ever. The film has found itself in a legal soup with a model-actor Sudhanshu Pandey reportedly suing the makers for using his script, screenplay, and dialogue in the movie without giving him due credits. He had titled his script Farmayish.

Sudhanshu, along with his lawyer Rohini Vakil, claims of having sent two notices to Gupta and Rakesh Roshan on December 5 for the same. "I spent two-and-a-half years nurturing this script. It's my story and was to be the debut production, made under my banner Raw Stock Production Private Limited. I met Sanjay Gupta in May and he agreed to come on board as director and co-producer of the film.Together, we met Balaji Telefilms and pitched the story to them, they instantly agreed to join us as co-producers. We had Hrithik in mind for the lead and after one script-reading session with Sanjay, the actor gave his nod and informed that he wanted his father to hear the script. When Rakesh Roshan heard the script, he made it clear that the film would be presented and produced under his banner Filmkraft productions,"  Sudhanshu told, Mumbai Mirror.

He later pointed out that post a meeting with the two filmmakers at Mr Roshan's office on October 11, he was told that he would be offered 2% of the profit and could be involved in the project as the associate producer. However, no credit for the script, screenplay or even the dialogues would be given to him. Sudhanshu said that this was not acceptable for him he walked out of the office. Since then, both the filmmakers have stopped taking his calls and so he has filed a complaint with the Indian Film and Television Producers Council (IFTPC) on November 28 claiming sole and exclusive intellectual property right, including copyright ownership on the script.

However, the matter does not end here. Interestingly, a public notice, published in four trade magazines on December 4, had stated that the script of Farmayish actually belongs to a writer named Vijay Kumar Mishra and Sudhanshu's Raw Stock Films have falsely claimed ownership of it. Sudhanshu's lawyer Vakil has agreed on sending a legal notice to sent to Naik, Naik & Company as well, the law firm which had sent out the public notice on December 5.

Sudhanshu who is quite upset with the entire matter, revealed that he has known Sanjay Gupta for a long time now and claimed that Gupta is being foolish when Sudhanshu knows he is wrong. Sudhanshu adds that he will fight this case till end. On the other hand, Gupta has been denying that he ever met Sudhanshu or even discussed a script with him. He has claimed that the script of his film is not the one Sudhanshu has been talking about  and adds how he did not wish to address these "one-directional, baseless allegations, without any proof". Gupta also states that nobody has any idea of the script when nothing official has been announced yet.
