Looks like the popular family drama on television, Sasural Simar Ka, has got inspired by the 2012 South Indian flick, Eega, a.k.a Makkhi.

In the latest twist of the series, the protagonist Simar, has turned into a housefly. Dipika Kakar, who plays the title role comments, "An actor never determines or has a say in the story line," reports Times of India.

Dipika also feels that the creative liberties taken by the show have ended up in setting trends on television. She adds, "Aren't naagins and daayans the current trend? And who wouldn't want to be a part of a show that is setting trends rather than following them?"

Whether it is the result of creative liberty or writer's block we don't know. But the viewers are smart enough to draw a parallelism between the latest twist in the show and the S. S. Rajamouli film Eega (Makkhi).

We wonder what's next in store for us in Sasural Simar Ka, in the name of 'creative freedom'.
