Ed Sanders' 'The Family' book set for movie adaptation

Roxwell Films has optioned rights to turn Ed Sanders' 1971 book The Family into a movie, it has been reported.

The movie describes the arc of Charles Manson's life leading to the notorious 1969 Tate-LaBianca murders, Deadline.com reported.

Roxwell's Jeremy Rosen and Kevin Shulman are producing and would be penned down by American Psycho screenwriter Guinevere Turner.

Jonas Akerlund, who has directed concert films for the likes of Madonna and U2, is helming. Michael Guerin and Dana Guerin are executive producing.

Turner said that it's exciting to explore the psychology of the young women who followed Manson.
