Sona Mohapatra, who has been facing a lot of hate speech and negative comments for tweeting against Salman Khan on his "raped woman" remarks, is in no mood to suppress her voice against the trolls.

The singer had earlier criticised Salman saying that despite being guilty of so many offences, he is still looked upon by the masses. Salman's fans didn't seem to digest her comments and went out tweeting against her using abusive and filthy language.

However, the popular singer has refused to succumb to such abusive comments and trolls and has slammed the twitterati.

Sona took to her Facebook page to post a strong, well written message along with screenshots of some tweets. She wrote:

"Nth such message coming in for the 4th day in a row & these just from one guy amongst the 'N' more like them. Nothing but the simple outcome of celebrating people like Salman Khan in the public domain, only encourages the worst in society.Bad behaviour has to be accounted for. Some PR driven branded charity cannot be the exit hatch. Not all of us are the dumb fools who have zero understanding of such strategic self serving branding exercises. A sorry or acknowledgement of a mistake shouldn't be so difficult to start with. So difficult for his huge clan to put in a word to his digital agency to stop the bully Bhai Bhakts from vomiting incessantly? No. That would take away his 'hero halo'. Instead this man attends press conferences in a film awards event abroad ( even there making everyone wait while he takes his time reaching there I hear) & keeps up with his swag & finally updates his Twitter timeline with a promo tweet for another film. 'Let daddy say sorry. I don't have to. I'm privileged, have done this & worse many times before & on top of that the 'masses' thronging the theatres support me, my peers don't tell me anything ..who cares about setting the right example to my stupid adoring mob? ' (this is me decoding his smirking, contemptuous expression & one liners since)

I do not need any ones sympathy let me assure you. I am super capable of handling this both emotionally & physically.
The reason why I share this is to put a spotlight on yet another new age phenomena - CYBER bullying, armies of trolls (many employed & paid by digital agencies of the rich & powerful) who try & scare individuals, be it men or women.
Being the latter gender, a woman, with a voice, of course helps ignite the worse fires within our deeply rooted misogynistic, patriarchal society. The reason why I share this is also because I know that, not everyone is as blessed as me. Not everyone has a support system & family such as mine. Not everyone has a partner who is willing to weather a storm & be rock solid through the stress. I somewhere hope that this incident serves as some kind of eye-opener to us. To help put some checks & measures in place to weed out the rubbish amongst us. Facebook has a profanity filter which is switched ON for me which automatically blocks out the vulgarity. Twitter doesn't. Blocking everyone is not physically possible since the numbers go beyond 1000's.
All this is minor in comparison to the bigger picture here.
Why are we so tolerant of the bad boys of our world? Boys who refuse to grow up. Boys who encourage other boys to follow in their foot steps & carry their flag high.
That apart, I share this because I believe in fairness. I believe in the good people fighting & supporting the good fight, believe it or not, I also believe in the system. I believe in India above all. I do think that we are in a path of change & BIG change in the coming years. This change will be brought about by men & women alike.
All that apart..one thing to look forward this week.
The season finale of Game Of Thrones...
Dynares Targareyn, Brienne of Tarth, Olenna Redwyne, Sansa & Arya Stark, Margaerry Tyrell & O yes & now Asha Greyjoy..
Woo Hoo!
Have a great weekend you all."
