While he has always mentioned on the show that he's going to quit Bigg Boss, he's always returned back as the host. But this time, Salman is adamant on pulling the strings off and has claimed that BB9 will indeed be his last season the show...
Salman Khan's name has become synonymous with Bigg Boss, courtesy his six year long association with the channel and the show. While each year, Salman initially is hesitant to take it up, he eventually gives in. Like last year, Salman had publicly announced that he won't like to continue with the show. While rumours were rife that the channel was thinking of replacing him with some other face, names like Ranveer Singh, Anil Kapoor and even Akshay Kumar were floating in the media. But Salman did come back on the show, much on the audience's insistence.
I miss the show!
Despite being irritated at times and announcing that he won't be a part of the show anymore, there's a reason why Salman keeps coming back. "After three months, you are exhausted. You feel tired of doing the same things. But there's a long association, plus a huge connect with the audience. After a point, I start missing the team and the people. I get emotionally attached to the people on the show. So each year, I feel let's not do it anymore because again there will be 13 more people who I will start caring for. Big B never reacted to what happened inside the house. The only reason I say I won't do the show is because it starts affecting me. I get very involved with the contestants and most of them are in touch with me even after show is over."
This is my last!
Emotional bonding notwithstanding, Salman has taken a firm decision now. He won't continue with the show after its ninth edition. In an interview with a tabloid, he clarified his stand. "Trust me, this is going to be my last season. This time, I am serious, I will at least give it a break.I would want to do something bigger and better," Salman revealed. Now this will be a big blow to the channel, the show and his millions of fans who tune in to catch his trademark antics on the show.
But he'll be back!
Salman is planning to start another show on similar lines with Bigg Boss, but in a much rural setting and backdrop. Well, Salman is planning to start another show with the channel's head Raj Nayak in tow and it's titled The Farm. Ask about The Farm and Salman points out, "This will be based on the same lines as Bigg Boss. We will get celebrities to come on board in an actual village setting. The entire show will be set inside a farm where the contestants will be seen farming, harvesting and even milking their own cows. We have already discussed the same idea and we both are collaborating on it soon. We have also bought the rihts to the show."
