It is a new trend that we have been witnessing off late in the industry of Bollywood. Gone are the days when we use to see actors playing the Bad-Boy in our films. In fact the latest pattern that we have spotted is; directors pulling off powerful villains on the big screen!

Karan Johar is playing the villain in Anurag Kashyap’s Bombay Velvet. The director’s  grand entry in the promos of the film gives one chills. He is one of the surprise elements in the film and Bombay Velvet also marks his Bollywood debut.

Likewise, Tigmanshu Dhulia played an apt villain in the cult film Gangs Of Wasseypur. His performance was one of the powerful ones which he pulled off with sheer excellence.

Similarly, we also have Amol Gupte who played the bad-boy in Kaminey and Singham Returns. Also, we will soon see Anurag Kashyap who will also be seen playing a villain in A R Murgadoss' next Akira starring Sonakshi Sinha.

Anurag Kashyap shares, "A director actually is a very good actor and only a director can understand that…I thoroughly enjoyed working with Karan Johar and am sure he will surprise you all when you will see him in the film.”

Karan Johar says, “For me, being an actor was both surreal and exciting. And I had no problem being directed by Anurag. Our cinematic sensibilities are completely contrasting, so opposites attracted in the best way possible. I feel he has taught me a lot; it was like being in film school. I enjoyed being on the other side of the camera.”
