Angelina Jolie, who is a human rights activist, has spoken about her stand against child marriage in a magazine interview.

According to Ms. Magazine, the Unbroken director said that there are as many as one-third of girls in developing countries, who are being forced and bribed to marry before the age of 18, the Washington Times reported.

Ms. Magazine's editor also supported the American star and said that child marriages not only force girls to give up on their dreams, but also endangers their lives as they're expected to become young mothers.

The upcoming issue of the publication will also feature the 39-year-old actress' partnership with Ethiopian filmmakers to raise awareness of child marriage in a 2014 film, DIFRET that means courage. DIFRET has already won awards at the Sundance Film Festival and the Berlin International Film Festival.
