The servant who was arrested for killing businessmen brothers Raj Kumar and Devendra Manchanda at their shop in north Delhi’s Kashmere Gate area has told the police that he was irked by the behaviour meted out to a female employee in the shop.

Arrestee Sonu Mistry alias Rajendra Pal was arrested by the north district police for bludgeoning the Manchandas to death in their shop in Ram Bazar area. He had been working with them for the last 12-13 years and was one of the most trusted employees.

He told the police that the behaviour of the brothers towards him and other employees in the shop was harsh and abusive. Due to this, a female employee, who was close to Sonu, had quit the job recently. He then hatched a plan to eliminate the brothers. He first bought a chopper and then consumed some alcohol before going to the godown.

He then switched off all the lights before calling Rajkumar to the second floor on the pretext of showing him some work, and murdered him. He then told Devendra that Rajkumar was calling him to the second floor and killed him in the similar manner.
He stabbed one of them with a chopper, while the other one was attacked with a tool used to break ice.
“In order to make sure that the other employees were not in the office at the time of the incident, Sonu told them that some guests were coming to meet the two brothers and sent them to the market to buy some snacks,” a senior police officer said. He added that the weapon used for the crime has been recovered as well.
