Now, Delhi cops get High Court, Supreme Court judgments on WhatsApp

In a bid to keep the Delhi police updated about the latest laws governing police investigation, an advocate has started an initiative to give information through WhatsApp about the recent judgments delivered by the Delhi High Court and the Supreme Court.

The initiative, started by an advocate Vibhor Anand who was inspired after a sub inspector told him that he was not getting to know about the recent laws because of his hectic schedule.

Following this, Anand started giving information about the recent observations by the HC and SC individually to all the police officers at their finger tips.

"The credit of the initiative goes to SI Manmeet posted at Ranjeet Nagar police station who told me that despite being a law graduate, he is not bale to update himself about the latest laws due to his hectic schedule," he said, adding that it was a larger issue pertaining to all officers.

The initiative, which started with 50 officers on October 15, at present covers 300 police officers across seven districts of the city who are receiving regular updates through WhatsApp.

Speaking about the action, Rohit Rajbir Singh, ACP Patel Nagar said, "It is a great initiative to increase the knowledge of the IOs."

The drive deals with the investigation by the police officers falling under Section 154 CrPC to 173 CrPC.

THE INITIATIVE
