Four including woman held for abducting girls, one rescued by Noida police

The Noida police have arrested four people, including a woman, for allegedly abducting girls and forcing them into prostitution from sector 20 in Noida on Saturday. Police have rescued a 15-year-old girl from them.

According to the police, the received a missing complaint of a girl on August 22 who alleged that his daughter had gone missing when she went out to buy some groceries.

"During the investigation, it was found that the girl was last seen entering the office of one of the accused, Santosh Kumar, who ran an ayurvedic clinic in the area. He was taken into custody and questioned," said Manoj Kumar Pant, station house officer, Sector 20 police station.

During the initial investigation, he tried to mislead by later broke down and confessed that his role was to identify local girls from financially weak backgrounds and convince them to leave their houses and run away with him.

"Kumar then handed over the girl to the other three and revealed their identities and work as Mohammad Hakim and Saurabh, who acted as the pimps and the woman gave the girls a makeover. She got the girls dressed up and prepared them for prostitution," said Pant.

Following the crackdown, a case under Section 363 (kidnapping) of the Indian Penal Code and relevant sections of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act and the provisions of the Immoral Traffic (Prevention) Act, 1956 has been registered.

"We are trying to find the involvement of the accused in other cases also. They were produced before a magistrate and later sent to jail," said Pant.
