Even a day after the death of Deputy General Manager of Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL) in Noida, the Gautam Budh Nagar police are clueless about the accused. However, they are leaving no stone unturned and have sent a team to Banaras to investigate the angle of personal enmity.

According to the police, the deceased Amit Pandey (41), was found shot dead by an unknown person on Wednesday night at a secluded stretch in Noida. But the incident came to light only on Thursday evening.

"The family members have stated that Pandey had come home (Banaras) and had finalised a business deal. We are trying to explore personal enmity as well as robbery angle in this case. We are investigating the matter," said Avnish Dixit, SHO, Sector 39 police station.

Police said prima facie it appeared to be a case of murder for robbery since his wallet, cell phone and wrist watch were reportedly missing.

"The post mortem of the body was conducted late on Friday night and the body was taken to Banaras by the family to perform the final rites. Only a bullet injury was found on the victim's body," said Dixit.

On Thursday afternoon, a body was found by the police which was later identified as that of Amit Pandey after he had been missing since he left office on Wednesday, following which a missing complaint was filed by his brother-in-law Prabhat Dwivedi at sector 39 police station on Thursday morning, after Pandey did not return home throughout the night.

Pandey was employed as deputy general manager at BHEL office at Lodhi road in New Delhi.
