Bollywood is set to witness a movie on dacoits after a long time, probably after Irrfan Khan last played Paan Singh Tomar. The trailer of Sonchiriya which released recently, manages to leave you with goosebumps.

Introduced during the emergency era, Sushant Singh Rajput’s journey begins with a gang which is headed by Ranvir Shorey. He is pitted against Ashutosh Rana who is a fierce police inspector in the era.

The gang in which Sushant is a part, is now stranded and cornered by the police consisting of Rana’s team. Whether they can make it out or not, forms the first jhatka of the film. This is followed by many moments – one where Sushant tells Manoj Bajpayee (who has played a similar role in Gangs Of Wasseypur) that he doesn’t fear death, and the other where he leaves his own group for Bhumi Pednekar.

Entering as the fierce woman from the Thakur community, Bhumi too doesn’t fear or think twice before pointing her rifle onto someone.

It is actually a war between the dacoits and the police men, which eventually leads to a war between them and tiger-looking Sushant alone. The trailer then ends in bullet shots, leaving a further impact.

Helmed by Udta Punjab director Abhishek Chaubey and produced by Ronnie Screwvala's RSVP, SonChiriya is slated to release on 8th February 2019, which is a week after Ek Ladki Ko Dekha Toh Aisa Laga and a week before Gully Boy releases. Ek Ladki Ko Dekha Toh Aisa Laga stars Sonam Kapoor, Anil Kapoor, Rajkummar Rao and Juhi Chawla in lead roles and Gully Boy, directed by Zoya Akhtar, features Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt in lead roles with Kalki Koechlin playing a pivotal role.
