Shweta Rohira has not only put her past with her ex, Pulkit Samrat, firmly behind her, she has found her calling in hand-painting and hand-crafting diary covers. Since the last two years, she has been designing stationery and diaries for individuals as well as corporates, and this year has been no different.
“When I started off, I thought people are not into stationery and diaries that much, what with the digital world competing with print. But I find there are many like me who are into it and this year I have got more orders! My old clientele usually place orders by October but otherwise people tell me by December end and I create and customise according to their tastes,” says Shweta.
Known as Salman Khan’s rakhi sister, Shweta has also undergone a drastic makeover. “Yes, I have lost 40 kilos in two years. It was a process and I worked really hard,” she says. It was her brother, a nutritionist, who suggested that she lose weight. “Two years ago during Christmas, he asked me for a gift and that was I should shed excess weight. He is 10 years younger than me and I always give him what he wants. So, for this, I had to go all out,” smiles Shweta.
In fact, soon after her makeover, she also made her acting foray last June in the short film, Parineeti. Any plans of doing a movie this year? “If it’s something exciting, why not? Not just films, If I find something exciting in any form and expression of acting, I will do it. I did the short film, Parineeti, because it was interesting. Also, I have been a fan of Kanwaljeet sir, so I when I got this opportunity, I took the plunge,” she quips. Her resolution? “I don’t believe in resolutions. Instead, I make a small bucket list and this year I want to see at least seven-eight new places in India,” she signs off.
